eBay Seller Success Story - Brighton Shoes

Have you ever wondered what to sell on ebay? Check this out! I purchased a pair of Brighton Womens Sandals at a local thrift store and turned them into nearly $40 profit! Brighton shoes are very high quality sandals, made in Italy. Here is the listing:

BRIGHTON Womens Sandals LARK THONG sz 8 Blue Made Italy

eBay Sale Price: $41
My Cost: $1.75
Profit on Sale: $39.25

As with any sale on ebay, there are associated listing and end of sale fees. I usually recover those costs in shipping and handling. For example, I charged $9 shipping & handling on this sale, but only paid $5 to ship the shoes. Keep those extra charges in mind when setting your shipping and handling charges.

What to Sell on ebay ... Discounted Nicorette Gum

As the New Year begins, so do the New Year resolutions. A popular resolution every year for smokers is to quit smoking. I recently found boxes of Nicorette gum, a smoking cessation aid, on clearance at a local retail shop. The clearance price was $12.99 and I had a coupon good for $10 off a box of Nicorette gum, original flavor. I paid $2.99 for the box of Nicorette gum and sold it for over $25!

Sale price$27.49
My Cost$2.99
Profit on Sale$24.50

You can sell clearance priced items on ebay for a profit, too! For more information on what to sell on ebay and money saving tips, please visit me on eHow at: http://www.ehow.com/members/pieceofscrap.html

So far, my experience with Examiner.com has been great and I'm enjoying learning how to share my knowledge about my topic with people all over the world.

They asked me to refer anyone I know who might be a good Examiner, and that is where you come in. We all know something on a particular topic, whether it be children, dogs, cats, gardening, school, golfing, basketball, etc. I think Examiner.com might be a good way for you to share your expertise, reach a large audience, establish yourself as an authority, and make online money.

I think you would do well, so if you'd like to learn more, you can read up on Examiner.com or if you're ready, you can apply now. Keep in mind that this program is open to you too if you are accepted as an Examiner!

This video will make it really clear how to tell them I sent you. If you have any questions you'd like to ask me before you apply, please let me know.

PieceOfScrap eBay Seller Success Story: Kohls Plush

I have been selling (and buying) on eBay since April 2000, almost 10 years! Through the years, I have learned a lot. I am sharing my tips, techniques and eBay success stories so that you, too, may also share in my success. The key to successful selling on eBay is knowing what to sell. I have had much success reselling products, some that I purchase new at retail stores, other products are used and purchased at garage sales and thrift shops. This success story happened by accident. I purchased 3 Peanuts Gang Stuffed Animals from the Kohls Cares for Kids Collection while at a garage sale, each for 25 cents. After the listing the 3 plush animals in a set for $19.99 and receiving no bids, I decided to break up the set and sell each one individually.
The plush Snoopy Flying Ace sold for $19.99, the plush Woodstock sold for $8.49 and I still have the plush Charlie Brown in store inventory. A great sale considering I purchased each stuffed animal for 25 cents!

Snoopy$19.99
Woodstock$8.49
Total Sale$28.48
My Cost-.50
Profit on Sale$27.98

Increase eBay Store Traffic with a Domain Name

Those of us with an eBay store or perhaps just starting an eBay store are looking for ways to increase traffic, thus possibly increasing our sales. Using a simple, easy-to-remember domain name to point potential customers to is much easier than having buyers remember stores.ebay.com/storename I learned this from several years of experience selling items on eBay. While many customers knew my store name, it was hard to find on eBay especially for new buyers. One can purchase a domain name for less than $10 per year … a very affordable marketing strategy that is worth a try (it worked for me!) To get started:

1. Point your browser to godaddy.com
2. Search for a domain name to make sure it is available (.com domains are most common)
3. If available, click on add to cart to continue to purchase the domain name
4. Once purchased, return to Domain Manager and then check the box. Near the top, click on “Forwarding”. On this popup, enter the URL of your ebay store (for example: stores.ebay.com/pieceofscrap)
. Click OK and wait a few hours. It will take awhile for the DNS changes to kick in.
5. To test, point your browser to the domain name you just purchased. Once the changes take effect, the domain will redirect to your eBay store.

Now you have an own easy-to-remember domain name to direct potential eBay customers too. This is fairly inexpensive and easy to do. A great marketing tip increasing traffic to your eBay store.
